What is Carlsbad Wave FC Competitive Soccer?
The Carlsbad Wave FC competitive soccer program consists of around 30 teams from ages U7-U19. Teams compete in the Presidio Soccer League, against the best soccer players in San Diego County and beyond. Carlsbad Wave FC believes in it’s team of wonderful coaches and directors whose sole purpose is to offer the best possible soccer training experience to each of it’s players.
When are tryouts?
All tryout information can be accessed on the “tryouts” page which can be found under the drop down menu for “Competitive”.
U7-9 teams tryout January 10&12, U10-14 teams tryout the week beginning February 13, and our U15-19 tryouts will be coming in April 2012.
What do the fees include?
- Full-Time Paid Professional Coach (except certain U11+ teams with non-paid head coach)
- Adidas training and game kit
- One Week – half day soccer camp during the summer
- Additional training clinics throughout the year
- Goal Keeper Training for the entire season (2 attendees per team)
- Practice Fields in South Carlsbad and North Carlsbad
- Referee fees; League fees; Club fees and insurance
What do the fees not include?
Fees do not include tournament entry fees, which are the responsibility of the team. Tournaments usually run from $30-$50 per player.
What’s the time commitment?
Mandatory practices begin in May, twice per week. The Presidio league season (which all teams will compete in except U7 teams) begins in early September and runs through Thanksgiving.
What about tournaments?
Each team will likely participate in around 3 summer weekend tournaments and at least one post-season tournament.
We have fields in North and South Carlsbad. At the younger ages we try to keep practices on the closest fields to where the kids live. As for league games, home games will be in Carlsbad, and away games are usually within a 30 minute drive, typically in Encinitas, Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, Del Mar etc.
